The full stigma inside the saffron flower is the Lacha kesar.

Mogra Saffron/Mogra Kesar

The top part of Lacha, a flat dark red thread, mainly used for cooking purposes is the Mogra kesar/Mogra saffron.

Zarda Saffron/Zarda Kesar

The bottom portion of the Lacha is Zarda. It is yellow in colour, and mostly used in skincare preparations.

Broken Saffron/Broken Kesar
